Went to Sotto Sopra for restaurant week and it was wonderful! It was honestly the perfect experience for our date night. It had a warm italian atmosphere that was elegant and lively. We had amazing service and the food was superb. We will definitely be back again!
So thankful for this divine experience with my adult children and daughter-in-law. Sopra Soto was amazing beyond imagination! We met the handsome Owner upon entering and even though Open Table didn’t work as expected, they welcomed us! The AntiPasti Misto and Calmari Frita were so fresh and delicious as well as the bread and bread sticks with the Chianti Clasico. I had the Short-Rib Ravioli which was amazing! My daughter and daughter-in-law had Pappardelle Fra Diablo which was also so delicioso! My son had Pollo Ripieno, another home run! The amazing communion was completed with a subtle heavenly pistachio tiramisu. The atmosphere was so beautiful with the Christmas tree, lights, nutcrackers. Our waitress, Eliesa, was so kind and helpful with all her recommendations. We were so surprised and blessed to share such a phenomenal and memorable meal with each other when we only see each other once a year! The only thing that could have made it better was to know about the valet parking as we got honked at and almost frightened away just trying to park.
All our dishes were very good. Service was attentive. Food came out in a timely manner. Perfect portion sizes. My only complaint is it was very dark.
We are from out of town and had reservations here after a visit to the Baltimore Museum of Art. We each had a glass of wine and shared the goat cheese salad. I ordered the King Salmon and my husband the Pollo Ripieno. We both really enjoyed everything! The atmosphere is very nice, with high ceilings and low lighting making it cozy and trendy at the same time. It was not a loud restaurant, even when it filled up, which was nice. We will be returning to the area, and will be spending the night, so we plan on dining here again to try some other dishes and share a bottle of wine.
Wow – Riccardo Bosio pulled out all the stops for a great Tax Day Special Dinner! It has been fascinating watching him over the years create special dining experiences for his customers. What a delicious idea – several pastas on the menu for $15.00 and a glass of red or white wine for $7.00. We made a reservation for 4 of us at 5:30 PM to celebrate our double wedding anniversaries. We were warmly greeted by Amelia, and seated at our favorite table. The restaurant already had a lively vibe – everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves. The restaurant is elegant and very inviting. Eliza, our server, came over right away to get us started with drinks. She was very friendly and attentive to our every need. The service is always exemplary. We enjoyed four glasses of a very crisp Pinot Grigio and two glasses of a robust Montepulciano wine. They always start you off with freshly baked homemade breads and bread sticks. We began our culinary journey with a Charcuterie Board, which was beautifully plated with an assortment of Prosciutto, finocchiona, parmigiano, pecorino, fried artichokes, crostini, green olives, caperberries, marinated vegetables, and pepperoncino. It was so delicious and more than enough for the four of us. We had two entrees of the Creamy Carbonara alla Sotto Sopra – a spaghetti with smoked bacon, egg, cream, and parmesan, one entrée of Cacio e Pepe –spaghetti with a creamy sauce made with just Pecorino Romano cheese and black pepper, and one entrée of Alla Amatriciana - spaghetti with a rich sauce of pancetta, tomatoes, Pecorino Romano cheese, and black pepper, and a touch of heat from red pepper flakes. Each and every pasta dish was carefully prepared and presented and loaded with flavor. We all were in Italian heaven. Riccardo made the evening more fun as he was dressed as Uncle Sam and was going around spreading good cheer throughout the restaurant. We could not have asked for a more enjoyable way to spend our anniversaries.
This establishment is an excellent choice for a date night. The complimentary valet service is a wonderful amenity, especially given the challenges of finding parking in the area. Our dinner experience was superb; we thoroughly enjoyed the three-course tasting menu, priced at $65 per person. Each dish was served promptly and prepared to perfection. Kudos to the Sotto Sopra Team for their outstanding work; please continue to maintain these high standards.
Coming from Philly to Baltimore. I was looking for some place different to eat and I found it! The service and the food was amazing! They are running a special this month. For $65.00 you get a salad, entree and dessert. Every bite was great. I will be coming back. Highly recommended. Oh, and their bread???? Very tasty.
The food was excellent, with generous portions at a very reasonable price. We chose the prix fixe menu, which included an appetizer, a main course, and a dessert. Even the appetizers were generously sized. What truly makes this place stand out is not only the beautiful décor but also the outstanding staff. From the valet parking attendant to the hostess and our waiter, everyone provided exceptional service and made us feel welcome.
In town for a wedding, we found this wonderful Italian restaurant by chance. It turned out to be a wonderful evening both with the atmosphere and the food. Jason our server was very friendly and helpful. Starting with the Caesar Salad through the sorbetto and port wine, everything was perfect. The Ravioli and pastas were flavorful and delicious. The wine by the glass selections were varied and complemented our meals. Never felt rushed. The have an Opera 5 course dinner which we did not attend but looks very interesting. If we lived in town we would be regulars.
